Butterworms are the larval form of the Chilean Trevo Moth. They are high in fat, very high in calcium, and moderate in protein. Butterworms can be kept in the fridge for longer keeping but do not put in the back of the fridge where it can be too cold.
Butterworms are irradiated when they are imported into the country which makes them sterile. They eat exclusively Trevo Bush which you can’t get in Canada so it is best to keep them in the fridge to keep them dormant! If you only need to keep them for a few days then you can keep them at room temperature.
